Lafayette Special Education

The Lafayette School Corporation (LSC) is committed to supporting all students, including those with special needs. The LSC provides a full continuum of Special Education services for students with disabilities, ages 3-21. The LSC partners with the Greater Lafayette Area Special Services (GLASS) to provide incredible special services for students with special needs. LSC buildings are equipped with administrators, special education teachers, paraprofessionals and other professionals properly trained and dedicated to providing a quality education for students with special needs.

We are committed to educating students with special needs in the least restrictive environment. We work closely with parents/guardians to ensure that our students are educated to maximum extent possible with non-disabled peers. Furthermore, related services and other supports are provided so students succeed in their school environments. The LSC is committed to inclusive practices and accessibility for our students with special needs.

If you suspect that your child may have a disability, please contact your child's teacher, counselor or building administrator. The school will contact you to discuss possible options, which may include but are not limited to, response to intervention or a multidisciplinary assessment. Eligibility determination is made through a multidisciplinary assessment and case conference coordinated by the school psychologist.
