Augmentative and Alternative Comm 
Assistive Technology (AAC-AT)


 AAC-AT staff will assist and/or consult with the school speech clinician and teaching staff on a student with a speech and language impairment to determine the student's mode of communication and if needed, selection, acquisition or use of an assistive device.

Alternative Programs


 Our programs offer an alternative setting for students who are suspended or expelled from school.  We provide special education services and work to help students find academic and behavioral success.

Autism


The Autism Department supports school teams in their work in meeting the needs of students with Autism.  Our department consists of consultants and behavior facilitators who work in a variety of ways to provide evidence-based practices for students  We can be found in all settings of the school and work in a variety of capacities.

Blind - Low Vision (BLV)


Children with qualifying vision loss receive consultative or direct services and materials from a licensed Teacher for Blind/Low Vision.  TBLV's provide Functional Vision Assessments and Learning Media Assessments to determine service, material, and educational accommodation and modification needs.

Deaf - Hard of Hearing (DDH)


The Deaf and Hard of Hearing program provides direct and consultative services to students on the continuum of hearing loss, as well as accessibility/communication modalities based on their eligibility and IEP goals.  TDHH's provide these services on an itinerant basis throughout the three school districts.  They also provide staff training regarding the student's hearing loss, accessibility and communication needs, goals and accommodations, auxiliary amplification (DM, FM, amplification device, etc), and personal hearing devices.

Nursing


GLASS nurses assist special education staff in providing a safe and healthy school and classroom environment.  GLASS nurses collaborate with school nurses, private medical personnel, and parents to assess and develop individual health care plans, educate and train school staff, and provide medical intervention as needed.  GLASS nurses currently serve in the GLASS Preschool at Linnwood and consult with the district's essential skills classrooms.

Occupational Therapist (OT)


The OT department provides services to students who meet the eligibility criteria for special education and OT-related services in the school setting.  Therapists may provide consultation, direct treatment, or training of parents and school staff.  OT may include supporting fine motor needs, self-help skill acquisition, and sensory processing strategies.

Pre-School


The G.L.A.S.S. at Linnwood Preschool offers a continuum of services for children ages 3 to 5 who are eligible under Indiana's special education rules.

Physical Therapist (PT)


The PT department provides services to students who meet the eligibility criteria for special education and PT-related services in the school setting.  Therapists may provide consultation, direct treatment, or training of parents and school staff.  PT may include supporting the child in traveling throughout the school building, assisting with functional sitting/positioning in the classroom, modifying equipment and/or physical environment, and developing large motor skills.

School Psychologist 


School Psychologists have specialized training in psychology and education.  They collaborate directly with school staff, students, and parents by consulting on academic and behavior challenges, analyzing data collection, in-servicing staff on research-based interventions and completing educational psychological evaluations.

Specialist


Specialists serve as Public Agency Representatives in case conferences.  They are responsible for assisting with ensuring compliance with IEPs and special education services.

Transition


Our transition department coordinators and job coaches help students to successfully transition to adulthood.  Transition services are provided to students who are turning 14 years of age to 22 years old.  The transition department assists students in exploring areas of occupational interest and identifying skills needed to perform those occupations.  They assist the teams in pre-vocational skills, vocational programs, and connect students and families to service providers and agencies available to assist adults with disabilities.
